My name is Leah. I was born and raised in Georgia, then moved to Philly and got married. Now I’m Brooklyn-based and work in e-commerce home decorating by day, and am an obsessed decorator/diy enthusiast by night. I also have an awesome photographer husband and two adorable dogs. I created “House Obsession” as a space that’s dedicated to obsessing over my house…and yours too.
I’m one of those rare breeds that likes to move a lot. Despite owning a house in the past (3 at various times, in fact!) we now live in an awesome apartment in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. (And I have to say, that renting definitely has its benefits!!) You can see pics of our various personal spaces HERE. I can’t promise there won’t be random thoughts on crafting, collecting, photography, the state of the world, recycling, and thrift store shopping. I’m always up for a bargain hunt!
If you want to reach me, you can always contact me at houseobsession[at]gmail.com.

one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Your “before” kitchen cabinets would be perfect for my cabin. What did you do with them – are they still available?

I salvaged what I could and have them in the basement for future projects. Mostly drawers. The rest was so disgusting that we got rid of them. It was hard to see JUST how gross they were in the pictures.

Just wanted to Thank you for a GREAT blog. I am also enjoy different homes and love to decorate. We live about 20 minutes outside of Centralia in a small “city” callled Pottsville. If you ever come up this way again, you might want to hit Mahantongo Street and the Yuengling Brewery. This street has wonderful old homes and plenty of history, including John O’Hara’s homestead.

Thanks Lori! I feel terrible b/c I don’t actually post very much on here anymore. Not nearly as much as I’d like to that is. And in terms of where you live, I’m very familiar with Centralia…and have driven through Pottsville. I’ll have to stop next time. Centralia is one of those places that I always find time to stop and wander when I go through. The history and story of that place are amazing. It’s a modern day ghost town… At any rate, thanks for the suggestions for my next jaunt up your way. I’ll definitely have to stop in and do a brewery tour!
