Merry Christmas!
Well….Christmas may have been yesterday, but it’s not too late to wish everyone a merry one….right?! (Don’t hold it against me b/c I had no internet all weekend.) Anyways…here’s wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, and hopefully lots of laughs too as we made our best effort at an awkward family photo moment.
Okay fine, so you like vampires…
I’ll admit it. I have a thing for the True Blood series / Sookie Stackhouse novels. (They’re a guilty pleasure and Alexander Skarsgard is cute.) And in the same vein, I switched on my inner adolescent girl and read all of the Twilight novels. (I’m seriously ashamed to admit this.) Well tonight, my gal pals...
Overly photoshopped MLS pics + Happy July 4th Weekend!
There’s not much that makes me laugh more than frightening interior pictures of a house listed for sale. Hooked on Houses does a great job showcasing these, in fact. However, the following house isn’t terribly decorated so much as the images have been photoshopped to the point of looking like a Disney cartoon. It doesn’t...
Stop Motion Trinkets
Reading this post about stop motion on Oh Joy! made me remember a stylist friend of mine’s own stop motion video with vintage trinkets that she bought at the Golden Nugget flea market. I love it, and her work…so I thought I’d share it with all of you! (Also, here’s a link to Pia’s blog.)...
A $5 million sneak peak
Ever wanted to see inside a $5 million mansion? Me too! Well, today I got the chance, and thought I’d share it with you. Enjoy! (Oh, and if you happen to have that much laying around, then email me and I’ll send you the listing! Hah.) I mean…pocket change, right?!
Wedding humor
Me: Maybe this should be our wedding cake? Him: Okay, but only if we get to build a moat and put a wizard in one of the towers. Me: Done! (Because planning a wedding a stressful, and sometimes you just need a laugh. Go HERE to purchase your very own Disney Princess Castle Cake kit.)...
Cockroach plate: Love it or leave it?
I just saw this cockroach plate on Etsy. I’m strangely drawn to it, and repulsed at the same time. What’s your verdict? (This plate is made by Etsy seller Catherine Reece.) You know…I think it would be best as a platter. That way, once the food starts to disappear your guests would be shocked and...
Who says places like Brooklyn get to have all the fun?
Philadelphia’s art scene is always buzzing with something new, and on May 16th the NKCDC will be hosting it’s 3rd Annual Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby. Go to their website to enter, see previous derbies or become a derby sponsor. If you don’t live in Philadelphia, it makes you want to move here, doesn’t it? (I...
International Chapter of the Junior Society
I’m so loving this blog! A co-worker of mine just turned me onto it yesterday, and I’ve been sitting here this morning digging through their archives. Everything is SO adorable! Yes, it is geared towards kids (or people with kids), but I think anyone can appreciate their aesthetic and the things they post about. It...
Sometimes there are no words: The “For Sale” Sneak Peak
A friend of mine, who is looking for a house in the neighborhood, posted a link to a home for sale with interior design that would make Liberace weep with joy. There really aren’t words to describe these interior shots, so I’ll just let the pictures do the talking. Wow. Right? I mean, am...
The art of packaging (and coffee)
One of the things I’ve been talking about lately at work is the art of packaging. The subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) exterior of the product itself that attracts us to it visually and compels us to purchase it…as opposed to all those other items on the shelves. Sometimes the packaging itself is better...
Hilarity on the spice aisle
Call me bored on a Saturday night, but I couldn’t resist changing the label on one of N’s spices while cleaning the kitchen. Seeing “Dill Seed” just struck me as too hilarious. And it will probably take him months to notice. I look forward to that day. Tee hee!
